Hello ! Guys i today's world all of are using mobile phones but. Mobile phones are very useful and helpful for communicating with others in today's busy world. But do you know what is the reason behind this  ? who has made the first mobile phone ?  I am dam sure that most of you are not knowing that which is the first company to bring mobile phones in today's world.

The first handheld mobile phone was demonstrated by John F.Mitchell and Martin Cooper of Motorola in April 3-1973, using a handset weighing c. 2.4 lbs (1.1kg).

This phone was made for only testing the concept of wireless mobile phone. This concept of wireless mobile phone in the year  1973 was brought by the Martin Cooper and Jhon Mitchell. This phone was comercially available in 1983. The phone was named as Motorola DyanTAC 8000x.
The Motorola DynaTAC 8000X. First commercially available handheld cellular mobile phone, 1984

DynaTAC is basically and abbreviation of [DYNAMIC ADAPTIVE TOTAL AREA COVERAGE].

Before the 1973 the mobile phones were availlable but they were wired and they are know as landline phones or telephones. And the anothere where the car phones means they were coonected in highly classic and expensive cars.

But Motorola DynaTAC 8000x made the work easy. The people can talk with everyone at everytime at any place .

Motorola's chief of portable communication products and Cooper's boss in 1973, played a key role in advancing the development of handheld mobile telephone equipment. Martin successfully pushed Motorola to develop wireless communication products that would be small enough to use anywhere and participated in the design of the cellular phone.

The DynaTAC's retail price, $3,995 (about $10000 in 2018 ), ensured that it would not become a mass-market item; by 1998, when Mitchell retired, cellphones and associated services made up two thirds of Motorola's $30 billion in revenue
Martin Cooper of Motorola made the first publicized handheld mobile phone call on a prototype DynaTAC model on April 3, 1983. This is a reenactment in 2007.

On October 13, 1983, David D. Meilahn placed the first commercial wireless call on a DynaTAC from his 1983 Mercedes-Benz 380SL to Bob Barnett, former president of Ameritech Mobile Communications, who then placed a call on a DynaTAC from inside a Chrysler convertible to the grandson of Alexander Graham Bell, who was in Germany for the event. The call, made at Soldier Field in Chicago, is considered to be a major turning point in communications. Later, Richard H. Frenkiel, the head of system development at Bell Laboratories, said about the DynaTAC: "It was a real triumph; a great breakthrough."

The specifications of Motorola DynaTAC 8000x

  • The prototype handheld phone used by Dr. Cooper weighed 1.1 kilograms (2.4 lb) and measured 23 by 13 by 4.5 centimetres (9.1 by 5.1 by 1.8 in).
  • The prototype offered a talk time of just 30 minutes and took 10 hours to re-charge.

  • It was commercially introduced in the Americas in 13 October 1983, Israel in 1986, and Australia in 1987. AMPS was a pioneering technology that helped drive mass market usage of cellular technology, but it had several serious issues by modern standards.

  • On 6 March 1983, the DynaTAC 8000x  mobile phone launched on the first US 1G network by Amertech . It cost $100M to develop, and took over a decade to reach the market.

  • The gives storage of saving 30 Contacts.

  • Price was 3995$ Only.
  • The call rates were fixed that you have pay 50$ per month first and the call rated were based on the time of calling and they were :-9AM - 5PM = 40 cents per minutes
                                                            5PM - 9AM = 24 cents per minutes
The call rates may change depending on the networks.

  • Motorola also offered a one-hour desktop charger, though the battery could get quite hot while charging at this accelerated rate. In some cases, this could cause major problems with the battery, occasionally short circuiting it and rendering it unusable. Also, charging the battery at a high enough rate to substantially raise its temperature will cause the battery to wear at an accelerated rate, reducing the number of charge-discharge cycles that can be performed before the battery will need to be replaced
